The sounds of the clashing along with the screaming monsters add an element of excitement and awe. Unfortunately, the frame rate seems like its being whipped from all the activity taking place. Still, the game appears pretty sleek and attractive overall. While Dungeon Hunter: Alliance does have its moments due to vibrant colors and attention to detail, the visuals do look pretty textured upon close examination of the characters. This title has taken the best of both worlds from the button layout that gamers are accustomed to from their controllers as well as the touch screen that “touched” many smartphone users’ hearts. Finally, you can use either the right stick or the touch pad on the back of the Vita to control the fairy, which works like a charm. You can even zoom in and out of the battlefield in a similar fashion to a smartphone. Players can also tap on the Vita’s touch screen to release a special attack that is limited to once a minute. In addition, you can map your character’s abilities to the other face buttons, thereby allowing you to customize your preferred button layout. Keeping in line with the typical action RPG control scheme, the game uses the left stick for movement and the X button to execute normal attacks.
